Gazprom books no Poland, no extra Ukraine transit for Q2,

MOSCOW, Feb 7 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom did not book pipeline transit capacities across Poland via the Yamal–Europe pipeline for April–June and July–September and additional capacities for transit across Ukraine, platforms RBP and GSA Platform said on Monday.

The Monday auction offered 89.1 million cubic meters of daily capacity in Poland and 9.8 million cubic meters of daily capacity in Ukraine.

The Yamal–Europe pipeline, along with Nord Stream and Ukraine’s gas transportation system, is one of the key routes for Russian gas delivery to Europe. The 2,000-kilometer pipeline runs through Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany and can pump 33 billion cubic meters of gas a year.

A long-term contract between Gazprom and Poland on transit via the Yamal–Europe pipeline ended in 2020, and Gazprom started booking capacity at auctions.
